Boiling Springs is a town in Cleveland County, North Carolina, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 3,866. It is home to Gardner-Webb University.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 3,866 people, 1,117 households, and 832 families residing in the town. The population density was 343.9/km (891.7/mi). There were 1,184 housing units at an average density of 105.3/km (273.1/mi). The racial makeup of the town was 89.29% White, 8.67% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.78% Asian, 0.41% from other races, and 0.72% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.40% of the population.

There were 1,117 households out of which 38.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.9% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.5% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.02.
